The Simon Burke Jazz Band plays a unique blend of New Orleans traditional jazz and American Songbook standards, Latin and blues. These styles reflect the unique musical identity of the city of New Orleans. Our music is a complex gumbo of the many musical styles that have emerged from New Orleans.

Our repertoire reflects the evolution of of jazz, with pieces ranging from the earliest days of jazz to the present. New Orleans favorites such as I’m Confessin ‘ and La Vie En Rose blend seamlessly with the music of jazz legends; Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Gershwin and Cole Porter to name just a few. We aren’t limited by stylistic boundaries and are equally happy playing more modern jazz or Latin music. For example, we love to play the Bossa Novas of Jobim and Bonfa. Since 2016, the band has been for hired for all manner of public and private events. We’ve played all manner of events; ranging from weddings, to Fortune 100 company events, large and small conferences and conventions, not to mention local venues. In 2025, we were proud to be one of the New Orleans jazz bands selected to perform as entertainment at the official NFL Superbowl hospitality event.

Collectively, we have over 100 years of performance experience and our professionalism is second to none. Punctuality is our watchword and we make a point to arrive an hour before performance time and are well accustomed to dealing with any issues that may arise.
